WPGA adopts National Revision Schedule for 2011

In anticipation of a significant change to the USGA Handicap System that will be mandatory beginning on January 1, 2012, the WPGA has adopted the principles of the National Revision Schedule for the 2011 calendar year. This move aligns the association with the regional and state golf associations it overlaps throughout the north east.

Revisions will occur on the 1st and 15th of each month. Transmission dates remain the day before the revision effective date.

WPGA Member Clubs should plan accordingly regarding club events. Though it is recommended to use a member’s Handicap Index in effect on the day of the competition round or rounds, the committee in charge of the competition must ultimately make this decision in advance. The committee may decide to insert a stipulation that the Handicap Index to be used will be as of a certain date in order to allow staff time to properly administer the event.

Ratings Released – November, 2010

The WPGA has released USGA Course Ratings and Slope Ratings for Highland Country Club in Pittsburgh, Lone Pine Country Club in Washington, The Country Club in Meadville, and Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park. The updated ratings can be located on the Association’s Course Rating Update – 2010.

Rating Released – September, 2010

The WPGA has released USGA Course Ratings and Slope Ratings for Green Meadows Golf Course in North East, Hill Crest Country Club in Lower Burrell, Kittanning Country Club in Kittanning, Westwood Golf Club in West Mifflin, and Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie. The updated ratings can be located on the Association’s Course Rating Update – 2010.

Rating released – Rolling Hills Country Club, McMurray

The WPGA has released USGA Course Rating and Slope Ratings for Rolling Hills Country Club in McMurray, PA. These ratings can be located in the Association’s Course Rating Update – 2010.

The WPGA has released USGA Course Rating and Slope Ratings for Centre Hills Country Club in State College, Hidden Valley Golf Club in Hiddden Valley, Kenterra Golf Course in DuBois, and Seven Oaks Country Club in Beaver. These ratings can be located in the Association’s Course Rating Update.
